The transport industry has several problems that haven’t been solved for decades. The key is in smarter resource management. This is what Asparuh Koev, co-founder and CEO of Transmetrics, said in the Investbook show hosted by Velko Kamenov on Bloomberg TV Bulgaria.
Transport companies execute the same transport plan every week, while the shipment volumes vary greatly over time, Asparuh Koev explained. In his words, this is the main reason for the lack of optimization, and “the key [to optimization] is in the historical data that has accumulated and in the observed patterns of customer behavior”.
“Depending on how aggressive the company is in optimization, transport costs can be reduced by 10% to 25%”.
The biggest reason why businesses fail is the founder who gives up. “As long as we continue to persevere, the business will develop and success will come”.
