Transmetrics, a startup that brings the power of Big Data to logistics, was selected into Cohort III of the Logistics Tech Accelerator program by RocketSpace – number one logistics technology accelerator that connects startups and leading logistics companies to set a new standard for logistics innovation and to achieve measurable results.
The selected startups represent three main emerging tech themes – Smart Warehouse, Smart Transport and Smart Commerce & Trade. The companies were chosen based on their team, product/service maturity, corporate partnership potential and accelerator fit. Unlike early-stage accelerators, the RocketSpace Logistics Tech Accelerator is designed to help later stage startups, with a product in market or ready to launch, who are looking to scale their business with industry leading corporations. This year the RocketSpace logistics accelerator is supported by Lufthansa Cargo, Kaleido Logistics, Fiege, Ingram Micro, and MAN Truck & Bus. Executives from Shyp, Peloton Technologies and British Airways among other respected brands will serve as program mentors.
After a series of successful interviews, Transmetrics was selected under the Smart Transport category. Lufthansa Cargo, which is well known for its innovativeness and achievements in the field of Big Data analytics, used their right to directly accept Transmetrics into the accelerator program. One of the reasons for that is because Transmetrics’ founders and the team have extensive domain knowledge in the cargo industry as well as deep technical expertise in building massive data processing and predictive analytics solutions.
Transmetrics is dramatically changing the cargo transport industry worldwide by predicting and optimizing capacity utilization. To achieve that, the startup is taking care of the whole process from data migration and data cleansing to forecasting, optimization and execution controlling. Being the first company in the world to focus on predictive optimization for the cargo industry, Transmetrics is already working with the leading logistics companies worldwide, including three global Fortune 500 companies. Transmetrics’ clients experience significant benefits such as the reduction in transportation costs of up to 25%.
The Transmetrics team is currently preparing for the kickoff event in Vigo on September 11th where the pilot project will be structured and agreed between Transmetrics and a selected corporate partner. Startups will then begin a four-week curriculum, after which they will create individual pilot scopes and launch into the product validation stage of the program. The acceleration program will conclude with a Demo Day in December, where participants will unveil their go-to-market solutions.
