Transmetrics attends transport logistic in Munich

transport logistic is the world’s leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management. The global industry meets at this top platform every two years in Munich and this year the topic No. 1 was digital revolution. transport logistic proved to be a great event to boost Transmetrics’ brand awareness and establish multiple business contacts.

Every company is a software company

Apart from the exhibition, visitors of transport logistic could attend interesting presentations to learn valuable insights on the industry. Flexport CEO Ryan Petersen explained in a panel discussion: “Every [logistics] company has to become a software company because the software is a key factor.” Bernd Schwenger, Country Director at Amazon Logistics, added that supply chain was the wrong definition, and “it should be called demand chain, the customer must be in the focus.” Stefan Karlen, CEO of the Panalpina Group, advised logistics companies that in order to support the customers better, “these [logistics companies] must also be prepared to share their data.”

Record demand from all around the world

The world´s largest sector gathering for the transport and logistics sector attracted a record number of participants. “This year’s transport logistic 2017 was a complete success. We had 2,162 exhibitors from 62 countries. A foreign share of 52% in total. It is the most international event in the industry and we will without fail easily beat the attendance figures from last year with 56,000 visitors.” said Stefan Rummel, Managing Director Messe München GmbH.

Exhibitors at transport logistic included companies such as Kuehne+Nagel, Lufthansa Cargo, DB Schenker, Panalpina, DSV, DACHSER, CargoLine, DFDS, Samskip, Yusen Logistics, C.H. Robinson, and others.
