On 26th and 27th of June, Transmetrics attended Webit.Festival Europe 2018 which took place in Sofia, Bulgaria. Transmetrics was selected by the Webit Foundation as one of the 100+ best European Startups from over 2,450 applications to participate and present at the event.
As a part of the Startup Expo Founders’ Games, Transmetrics Senior Marketing Manager Tim Koroteev pitched Transmetrics innovative predictive cargo planning solution in front of professional investors’ jury. In addition to that, Mr. Koroteev participated in a Discussion Panel about Investments in AI along with Bogomil Balkansky (Vice President, Google), Aidan O’Brien (Senior Partner, Dell Technologies), Georgi Dimitrov (Head of Development, Iris.ai) and Graham Buchanan (Head of Marketing, DataSine).

During the panel, the participants had a chance to discuss the following topics:
– How can AI startups compete with tech giants such as Google, Facebook, Amazon, and the like;
– Key AI startup ecosystems and trends for building such an ecosystem;
– Tips for hiring AI talent;
– What are the possible alternatives for raising capital (ICOs etc.);
– Short-term and long-term future in the AI investment scene;
– What are investors looking for in AI startups;
– What should investors bear in mind when investing in AI

According to the organizers, Webit.Festival Europe was a part of EU Digital & Innovation week, which welcomed over 7000 attendees from 100+ countries including 1500 top policymakers from all around Europe and beyond (heads of states, EU commissioners, ministers, mayors, MEPs), 6000 of world’s enterprise leaders, global and European founders, entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, scientists and digital economy shapers and a top selection of Europe’s most promising startups.

Over 3 days, Webit.Festival participants had a chance to meet with the top digital industry professionals and watch keynotes and panel discussions on a variety of topics – from Digital Entertainment to Blockchain and Cybersecurity. The conference took place under the patronage of Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Boyko Borisov, The Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova and was sponsored and supported by Mastercard, SAP, Huawei, Microsoft and others.
